His wife Jodi Albert posted a picture of their gorgeous three-year-old Koa looking every inch like his surf riding daddy.
Wearing a wet suit and giving the rock ‘n’ roll sign, she said ‘the little dude’ was loving the waves.
In a video shot recently, his dad Kian, wearing a T-shirt and board shorts, looked confident and self-assured as he performed some tricky manoeuvres in the sea.
His love for the water was even the reason they chose Koa as the name for their first born.
Kian told an interviewer: ‘Koa is a Hawaiian name. Because I surf, I used to go to Hawaii all the time. Surfboards are made from Koa wood – a Hawaiian tree – and we looked it up in a baby name book and it means ‘bold, brave and fearless’ in Hawaiian, so it was the obvious choice for us!’
He added: ‘Now we are in trouble because we have got to find a name a name as cool as Koa for our next baby.
‘Maybe we’ll just have to go to Fiji for inspiration…’
Meanwhile, a heavily pregnant Jodi has been busy snapping the little dude as the sun comes out, and she waits for bay number two.
Decked out in surfer chic, the couple admit to styling him to look like his famous daddy.
‘We dress Koa like a little surfer dude, because that’s what I am, I’m the surfer in the family,’ Kian has said.
The couple spend most of their time when at home in Ireland beside the sea in Kian’s native Sligo.
The Voice of Ireland coach said: ‘We love taking him surfing and hanging out with all the boys on the beach.
‘I put him in his little baggies, his Vans and a Volcom T-shirt – it’s really cute! We are absolute surf fanatics.’
The adorable pictures of Koa from the Jodi Albert instagram account come just days after Jodi posted a photo of herself and a pal showing off their impressive baby bumps.
‘Cannot thank my beautiful friends sis and husband enough for my surprise Baby Shower yesterday!!!
‘Thank you for such an amazing day!!! #regram #summerbaby #funinthesun #ciciandherpillow.’ Jodi wrote with the picture on Sunday.
Jodi and Kian are soon to be a family of four with their second baby believed to be due in May.
This baby will arrive just three months after Jodi buried her mother Eileen following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Speaking to OK! magazine in March, Jodi admitted that she is very excited about welcoming the new baby.
But The Voice of Ireland coach says the fact that Eileen is not around for this momentous occasion makes it all the more difficult.
‘[Jodi] is missing her mum like crazy as you can imagine – a girl losing her mum just as she is about to become a mum for the second time. It’s a very hard time.’
‘Jodi is amazing because every day she is waking up and trying to focus on the positive things, not block it out but get on with it the best she can in the situation that is in front of her.’
