Kian Egan and Shane Filan were reunited last night for the first time in almost two years.
The last time the Westlife singers were in three same room together was at the after party for their farewell gig in Croke Park in June 2012.

Shane and Kian: their first meeting in two years

It had been reported that there was bad blood between the pair, considering they both have rival solo careers.
But Kian was quick to pour cold water on this rumour, insisting that it was right back to the old days.

Speaking to Evoke.ie he said: ‘That is literally the first time I have seen him since Croke Park. It is so weird to see him doing his solo performance this week and me doing mine last week but in a good way. Because it seems that things are so positive for two guys who used to be in a band together.
‘I suppose you assume that because we haven’t seen each other for so long that things would be different, awkward and a little bit strange. It just wasn’t. I stayed with him from the minute he got off stage to just hang out and be around him and it just felt so natural.’

Westlife split after 14 years and all four members have since launched their own careers.

Mark is recording a solo album whilst Nicky Byrne is the great white hope on the new restructured 2FM. Kian, meanwhile, is a resident coach on The Voice of Ireland, where Shane last night performed his new single, Knee Deep in My Heart.

Kian was celebrating last night with the news that his debut album, Home, went straight into the British charts at number eight and number two in the Irish charts.
And he said that his record label were so thrilled with the early figures that they were already planning to release a second single.

‘It is brilliant, amazing’, he beamed. ‘For someone who really thought he would never have a solo career I am stroked. The sales are really strong and the label are delighted and feel that it will sell some more next week because of Mother’s Day.

‘We have a meeting about it next week to pick it. The duet with Jodi has been spoken about a lot and there is a buzz on it and we just need to figure out if it is the right single to put out.’
