Westlife pals bury the hatchet over pints to toast Kian's birthday

Brian McFadden has clearly built bridges with his former Westlife pal Kian Egan.

The Voice of Ireland judge once said he was "glad" that Brian left as they were a better band without him.

Yet the two singers have now put the past behind them as they went on a session on Saturday night after Brian flew back to his hometown.

The Diary can reveal how the two enjoyed a rare night out in Dublin over the weekend as the I'm a Celebrity winner helped his old bandmate celebrate his birthday.

He made sure turning 34 was a night to remember as he partied the night away in Lillie's Bordello as they enjoyed the hospitality of the VIP area.

The two lads were joined by their wives Jodie Albert (inset, with Kian) and model and DJ Vogue Williams as they sipped champagne.

"They were all in great form and enjoying a good catch-up," a source said. "There's so much shared history between them that it's like they only saw each other yesterday every time they catch up.

"Brian's based in London now and Kian has been doing a lot more work over there since winning I'm A Celebrity so their paths are bound to cross more.

"The two girls also get on great, so it was a really fun night for all of them."

Clearly feeling nostalgic about turning a year older, Brian posted up a photo of himself with his former bandmates on Twitter, as well as a school pic with his sister Susan.

Last year saw him making the big move back to the UK from Australia where he had been living for the past two years with Vogue.

He has now been confirmed as the host of a new show on ITV after beating off stiff competition to front the programme.

Airing from Monday to Friday and based along the same lines of Through the Keyhole, Brian will have lunch with a different mystery guest each time.

A panel of celebrities will then have to figure out the identity of his lunch date.

According to a source, ITV producers are very taken with the outspoken singer, and they are keen to include him on their roster of up-and-coming talent.
